The year 2022 was to be a very special year for Neustadt Harz, because the people of the Harz wanted to celebrate the 650th anniversary of the town and the 44th International Meeting of New Towns in Europe together with many guests. The big festival should take place from September 9th to 11th, 2022 in Neustadt Harz. Unfortunately, for a variety of reasons, she had to say goodbye to the organization and implementation and the festival was therefore cancelled.

Newest member of the town twinning is the city “Cristian-Neustadt in Burzenland”. The now southernmost town of the joint venture is located in Transylvania in Romania.
